Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Governing Law: Ontario, Canada
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Letsgo application (the "App"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must immediately cease all use of the App and delete it from your device.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Letsgo Community Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Ontario, Canada.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to access or use the App. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that:
You are at least 18 years of age;
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
You are not prohibited from using the App under the laws of Canada or any other applicable jurisdiction; and
All registration information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account of any user found to be under the age of 18, without prior notice and without liability.
Age verification is currently performed by self-attestation at the time of registration. By providing your date of birth and accepting these Terms, you represent that the information you have provided is accurate. Letsgo reserves the right to request documentary proof of age at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts where age cannot be verified to our reasonable satisfaction.
3. Definitions
The following terms have the meanings set out below throughout these Terms:
"App" means the Letsgo mobile and/or web application and all related features, content, and services.
"User" or "you" means any individual who accesses or uses the App.
"Post" means any photo, image, video, or other content uploaded or shared through the App, which must include a mandatory location tag at the time of capture.
"Public Post" means a Post that is visible to all users of the App and the general public.
"Private Post" means a Post that is visible only to the posting user and their approved Followers.
"Follower" means a user who has been approved by another user to view that user's Private Posts.
"Location Data" means (a) the exact GPS coordinates automatically attached to a Post at the time of
capture or upload, and (b) device location data that may be collected by the App while it is open or running in the background in order to support the App’s posting features, as further described in Section 6.1. Location Data is not collected while the App is closed.
"User Content" means all Posts and any other text, images, or material that you upload, post, share, or transmit through the App.
"Community Guidelines" means the rules of conduct governing user behavior on the App, which form part of these Terms. The Community Guidelines are published as a separate document and incorporated herein by reference. In the event of any conflict between the Community Guidelines and these Terms, these Terms shall prevail.
"Third-Party Services" means external platforms, services, or content not owned or operated by Letsgo that may be linked to or integrated with the App.
"Personal Information" means information as defined under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial legislation.
4. License Grant and Restrictions
4.1 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Letsgo grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable personal license to download, install, and use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
4.2 Restrictions
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
Copy, modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on the App;
License, sublicense, sell, resell, rent, lease, transfer, assign, or otherwise commercially exploit the App;
Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, trademarks, or copyright notices on the App;
Use the App to develop a competing product or service;
Use any automated tools, bots, scrapers, or similar technology to access the App or its data;
Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the App.
5. User Accounts
To access certain features of the App, you must register for an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate, truthful, and complete registration information;
Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials;
Notify us immediately at support@letsgo.community if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account; and
Accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
Letsgo reserves the right to refuse registration, or to suspend or terminate any account, at its sole discretion.
6. Posts, Content Visibility, and Location Tagging
6.1 Mandatory Location Tagging
All Posts on the App must include a mandatory location tag. When you create or upload a Post, the App will capture and attach the exact GPS coordinates of your device at the time the photo or content was taken. You cannot publish a Post without a valid location tag. By using the App's posting feature, you expressly consent to the collection and display of your GPS location data in connection with each Post.
You are responsible for ensuring that the location data attached to your Posts is accurate and that you have the right to share content from that location. Letsgo is not liable for any inaccuracies in GPS data caused by your device, network conditions, or other technical factors.
In addition to capturing your location at the time of posting, the App may collect and temporarily retain your device’s location data while the App is open or running in the background. This location data is used to support the App’s posting features, to provide location-aware search results, and to generate content suggestions relevant to your current or recent location, and is not stored independently of a Post. The App does not collect or transmit location data while it is closed. By using the App, you consent to this location collection. You may withdraw consent at any time by revoking the App’s location permissions through your device settings, though doing so will prevent you from creating Posts and will disable location-aware search results and content suggestions.
6.2 Post Visibility Settings
When creating a Post, you must select one of the following visibility settings:
Public Post: Visible to all users of the App and, where applicable, the general public. Public Posts, including their associated location data, may be viewed, shared, and re-posted by any user.
Private Post: Visible only to you and users who you have approved as Followers. Private Posts and their location data are not visible to the general public or non-approved users.
You may change the visibility setting of a Post at any time through the App settings. Letsgo is not responsible for any unintended disclosure that occurs as a result of your visibility settings.
6.3 Sharing and Re-Posting
The following rules govern the sharing of Posts on the App:
Public Posts may be shared or re-posted by any user of the App.
Private Posts may be shared or re-posted only by approved Followers of the posting user.
You acknowledge that once a Post has been shared or re-posted by another user, Letsgo cannot guarantee or enforce its removal from that user's account or device.
You must not share, re-post, screenshot, or otherwise distribute another user's Private Post outside the App, or to individuals who are not approved Followers of that user. Doing so is a violation of these Terms and may constitute a violation of applicable privacy laws.
Letsgo strongly discourages the unauthorized distribution of any user's content, particularly Private Posts containing location data. If you become aware of a user sharing Private Posts without authorization, please report it to support@letsgo.community.
6.4 Location Data Awareness
You acknowledge and understand that:
Every Post you publish contains your exact GPS coordinates at the time of capture;
Public Posts expose your location data to all users and potentially the general public;
Private Posts expose your location data to your approved Followers;
You should exercise caution when posting from sensitive locations such as your home, workplace, or any location you wish to keep private; and
Letsgo cannot retrieve or erase location data that has already been viewed, saved, or shared by other users prior to deletion of the original Post.
7. User Content
7.1 Your Ownership
You retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in the User Content you create and post on the App. Letsgo does not claim ownership over your User Content.
7.2 License to Letsgo
By posting User Content on the App, you grant Letsgo a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and adapt your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the App. For the avoidance of doubt, where your User Content is used for promotional purposes, any Location Data associated with that content will be removed or anonymized prior to such use. Letsgo will not use your identifiable Location Data in advertising, marketing, or promotional materials without your express prior consent. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or your account, subject to the retention provisions in Section 8.
7.3 Content Representations
You represent and warrant that:
You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to post your User Content;
You have the right to be present at and capture content from the location identified in the location tag;
Your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party; and
Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
7.4 Content Removal
Letsgo reserves the right, but not the obligation, to review, monitor, refuse, or remove any User Content at its sole discretion, without notice, if it determines that such content violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
8. Post Deletion and Account Deactivation
8.1 Deletion of Individual Posts
You may delete any of your Posts at any time through the App. Upon deletion, the Post and its associated location data will be permanently removed from the App's active servers within 7 business days. However, you acknowledge that:
Copies of the Post may remain in Letsgo's backup systems for up to 30 days following deletion, after which they will be permanently purged;
Letsgo cannot retrieve, remove, or control copies of your Post that have already been viewed, saved, downloaded, or re-shared by other users prior to deletion; and
Deletion of a Post does not automatically remove re-posts or shares made by other users.
8.2 Account Deactivation
You may deactivate your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting us at support@letsgo.community. Upon deactivation of your account:
Your profile will be immediately hidden from other users;
All of your Posts, both Public and Private, will be permanently deleted;
Your Posts and associated location data will be permanently deleted from the App’s active servers within 30 days of deactivation; and
Deletion of your account and associated data is permanent and irreversible.
As with individual Post deletions, Letsgo cannot retrieve or erase location data or Post content that was shared or saved by other users prior to your account deactivation.
8.3 Letsgo-Initiated Removal
Letsgo may remove Posts or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. In cases of severe or repeated violations, deletion may occur without prior notice and without a grace period.
9. Community Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy
Letsgo is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive community. You agree that you will not use the App to:
Harass, bully, intimidate, threaten, or abuse any other user;
Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or promotes violence on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
Share content that is sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic;
Post content that defames, libels, or disparages any individual or organization;
Stalk, dox, or expose the private information of any other user without their consent, including sharing their location data without authorization;
Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity;
Engage in or promote any illegal activity, including fraud, scams, or the sale of illegal goods or services;
Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive content; or
Share, distribute, or republish another user's Private Posts or location data without that user's explicit consent; or
Falsify, spoof, manipulate, or artificially alter the GPS or location data attached to any Post.
Location integrity is fundamental to the App’s purpose. Deliberately misrepresenting your location is a serious violation of these Terms and may result in immediate permanent account termination and a permanent ban from the App.
Violations of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination. Users who believe they have been subjected to harassment or abuse may report the conduct to support@letsgo.community. Letsgo will investigate all reports in good faith, but does not guarantee a specific outcome or timeline.
10. Refund and Cancellation Policy
The App is currently offered free of charge. No payment is required to access the core features of the App. If Letsgo introduces paid features or subscription tiers in the future, separate terms governing refunds and cancellations will be provided at that time and will form part of these Terms by reference.
11. Intellectual Property
The App and all of its contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to software, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, and video — are owned by Letsgo, its licensors, or other content providers, and are protected under the Copyright Act (Canada) and other applicable intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of intellectual property to you. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the App without our express prior written consent. You also may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use any User Content posted by another user for any commercial or non-personal purpose without the express consent of the user who owns that content.
12. Feedback and Suggestions
If you voluntarily submit feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations to Letsgo regarding the App ("Feedback"), you acknowledge that such Feedback is provided on a non-confidential basis. Letsgo may use, copy, modify, and incorporate your Feedback into the App or its other products and services without any obligation to compensate you or credit you. This clause does not apply to User Content, which is governed by Section 7.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites or services. Letsgo does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any Third-Party Services. Your use of Third-Party Services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and conditions.
Letsgo shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your interaction with Third-Party Services.
14. Your Data Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information held by Letsgo.
Right of Access. You have the right to request a copy of the Personal Information Letsgo holds about you, including your location history associated with your Posts. To submit an access request, contact us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Data Access Request”. Letsgo will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and provide the requested information within 30 calendar days, subject to any legal exceptions.
Right of Correction. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate Personal Information held by Letsgo. Please contact us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Data Correction Request”. Letsgo will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and action the correction within 30 calendar days, subject to any legal exceptions.
Right of Deletion. You have the right to request the deletion of your Personal Information held by Letsgo, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain certain information. To submit a data deletion request, please contact us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
Upon receipt of a verified deletion request, Letsgo will:
Acknowledge your request within 5 business days;
Delete or anonymize your Personal Information within 30 calendar days, except where retention is required by applicable law; and
Confirm completion of the deletion in writing.
Please note that deletion of your account will result in permanent and irreversible loss of all your Posts, location data, community connections, and account history.
15. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The App uses cookies solely to maintain your login session and keep you signed in between uses. We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes. We do not store Personally Identifiable Information in cookies beyond what is necessary to identify your active session.
For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your Personal Information and Location Data, please refer to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
16. Modifications to the App and Terms
16.1 App Modifications
Letsgo reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. We are not obligated to provide you with any updates, upgrades, or continued access to any feature.
16.2 Amendments to These Terms
Letsgo may amend these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide you with at least 30 days' advance notice through the App or via email. What constitutes a material change will be determined in our reasonable discretion, having regard to the nature and impact of the change.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any amended Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App and may request deletion of your account.
17. Term and Termination
These Terms are effective from the date you first access or use the App and remain in effect until terminated. Letsgo may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to:
A violation of these Terms or our Community Guidelines;
Conduct that Letsgo reasonably believes is harmful to other users, third parties, or Letsgo; or
A request by law enforcement or other government authority.
You may terminate your account at any time by deactivating your account through the App settings or by contacting us at support@letsgo.community. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases immediately, and you must delete all copies of the App from your devices. Your Posts will be deleted in accordance with Section 8.2.
Termination does not limit any rights or remedies available to Letsgo at law or in equity.
The following sections shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms and continue in full force and effect: Section 7 (User Content), Section 11 (Intellectual Property), Section 12 (Feedback and Suggestions), Section 18 (Disclaimer of Warranties), Section 19 (Limitation of Liability), Section 20 (Indemnification), Section 21 (Dispute Resolution), and any other provisions that by their nature are intended to survive termination.
18. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LETSGO EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Letsgo does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or harmful components, and makes no representations regarding the accuracy of GPS or location data. Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
19. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LETSGO, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY HARM ARISING FROM THE DISCLOSURE OF LOCATION DATA ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR POSTS.
As the App is offered free of charge, where liability cannot be entirely excluded, Letsgo's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100.00).
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Letsgo and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your User Content or Posts, including any location data attached thereto; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your unauthorized sharing or distribution of another user's Private Posts or location data; or (e) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
21. Dispute Resolution
21.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
21.2 Notice of Dispute
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution process, the party raising the dispute must provide the other party with a written Notice of Dispute setting out the nature of the dispute and the remedy sought. Notices must be sent to support@letsgo.community. The parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation for a period of 60 days from the date of the Notice.
21.3 Arbitration
If the dispute is not resolved through negotiation within 60 days, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by binding arbitration administered by the ADR Institute of Canada, Inc. in accordance with its Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration shall be Toronto, Ontario. The language of arbitration shall be English. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding on both parties. Arbitration costs shall be allocated in accordance with the ADR Institute of Canada’s Arbitration Rules, except that Letsgo will bear the filing fee for any claim of CAD $1,000 or less.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER. YOU AND LETSGO AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION OR PROCEEDING. Unless both you and Letsgo agree otherwise in writing, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a class or representative proceeding.
21.4 Limitation Period
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to the App or these Terms must be commenced within two (2) years after the cause of action arises, after which it shall be permanently barred. This limitation period is consistent with the Limitations Act, 2002 (Ontario).
22. Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyright has been infringed by content appearing on the App, please send a written notice to support@letsgo.community including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the infringing material and its location on the App; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and (e) a solemn declaration, made in accordance with the Canada Evidence Act or applicable provincial legislation, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
23. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
24. Waiver
No failure or delay by Letsgo in exercising any right, power, or remedy under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that right. A waiver of any breach of these Terms shall not be construed as a waiver of any subsequent breach.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by Letsgo on the App, constitute the entire agreement between you and Letsgo with respect to the App and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, representations, and warranties, whether written or oral, relating to the App.
26. Adult and Explicit Content Policy
Letsgo maintains a strict prohibition on all adult and explicit content. The following categories of content are expressly prohibited on the App and will result in immediate removal and may result in account suspension or termination:
Sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene content of any kind, including nudity, graphic sexual acts, or content intended to arouse;
Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any manner;
Suggestive or sexually implicit content, including partially nude imagery posted with intent to circumvent this policy; and
Links, references, or redirects to external platforms or services that host adult or explicit content.
This prohibition applies to all forms of User Content, including Posts, profile images, usernames, and any text accompanying a Post. There are no exceptions or age-gating mechanisms available on the App. Letsgo reserves the right to remove any content that it determines, in its sole discretion, to be adult or explicit in nature, and to suspend or permanently terminate the account of any user who posts such content.
27. Promotions, Contests, and Giveaways
Letsgo does not currently operate, sponsor, or facilitate any in-app contests, giveaways, sweepstakes, prize draws, or promotional campaigns. Any communication purporting to announce a Letsgo contest, giveaway, or promotion should be treated as unauthorized and potentially fraudulent. Users are encouraged to report any such communications to support@letsgo.community.
Should Letsgo introduce promotions or contests in the future, such activities will be governed by separate official rules published through the App and will be clearly identified as official Letsgo communications. Any future promotions will comply with applicable Canadian federal and provincial laws, including consumer protection and gaming regulations.
28. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach or unauthorized access to user Personal Information, Letsgo is committed to responding promptly and transparently. Upon discovery of a breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to affected users, Letsgo will:
Notify affected users within 7 calendar days of discovering the breach, by direct communication to the email address associated with your account or through a prominent in-app notification;
Report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and applicable provincial authorities as required under PIPEDA and other applicable legislation;
Provide a plain-language description of the nature of the breach, the categories of Personal Information affected, the steps Letsgo has taken or will take to address the breach, and recommended steps users may take to protect themselves; and
Maintain a record of the breach and our response for a minimum of two years following discovery.
Given the nature of the App, a data breach may include unauthorized access to location data associated with your Posts. If you have reason to believe that your account has been compromised or that your Personal Information has been accessed without authorization, please contact us immediately at support@letsgo.community.
29. Third-Party Data Sharing
Letsgo does not sell your Personal Information or Location Data to third parties, and does not share your data with advertisers or marketing partners. Your location data is your own.
Letsgo may share limited data with trusted third-party analytics providers (such as crash reporting and usage analytics services) solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the App. Any such providers are contractually bound to use your data only for those purposes and may not use it for their own commercial ends. Where analytics providers receive data that includes location information, it is shared only in aggregated or anonymized form that cannot reasonably be used to identify you individually.
Letsgo may also disclose your Personal Information where required by law, court order, or as otherwise described in Section 31 (Law Enforcement and Government Requests).
30. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Letsgo is a Canadian company. At this time, your Personal Information, including your Location Data, is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. We are actively working toward establishing data storage and processing infrastructure within Canada, with the goal of operating in both jurisdictions. As a result, your Personal Information may continue to be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States for the foreseeable future, and potentially in other jurisdictions where our service providers or infrastructure partners operate.
Where data is transferred outside Canada, Letsgo takes reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information receives a level of protection comparable to that afforded under PIPEDA. You acknowledge that Personal Information transferred to a foreign jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by foreign courts or government authorities. An up-to-date list of the jurisdictions in which your data may be stored or processed will be set out in our Privacy Policy.
31. Law Enforcement and Government Requests
Letsgo may be required to disclose your Personal Information, including your Location Data and Post history, in response to a valid legal demand from a law enforcement agency, court, regulator, or other government authority. Such requests may include search warrants, court orders, production orders, or other lawful demands under applicable Canadian or foreign law.
Where Letsgo receives such a request, it will: (a) review the request for legal validity before complying; (b) disclose only the minimum information required to satisfy the legal demand; and (c) where legally permitted to do so, notify the affected user that a request has been received and that their data may be disclosed. Letsgo will not notify the user where doing so is prohibited by law, would obstruct an ongoing investigation, or where a court or authority has issued a non-disclosure order.
32. Account Inactivity
An account may be considered inactive if the registered user has not logged in or engaged with the App for a continuous period of 12 months. Given that every account holds a historical archive of GPS-tagged Posts, Letsgo may treat inactive accounts as a data minimization matter under PIPEDA.
Where Letsgo identifies an inactive account, it may send a notice to the email address associated with the account informing the user that their account may be permanently deleted in 30 days unless they log in or otherwise respond. A reminder notice may be sent at day 15. If no response is received by day 30, Letsgo may treat the account as voluntarily deactivated and permanently delete the account and all associated Personal Information and Location Data.
33. Content Moderation Appeals
If Letsgo removes your content or suspends or terminates your account under Sections 8.3 or 9, Letsgo will send notice of the decision to the email address associated with your account. You may submit a written appeal by emailing support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Moderation Appeal” within 14 days of the date that notice is sent. Your appeal must include your username, a description of the content or action being appealed, and the grounds on which you believe the decision was made in error.
Letsgo will acknowledge your appeal within 3 business days and provide a final determination within 14 days of acknowledgement. Letsgo’s determination on appeal is final. Appeals are not available for account terminations resulting from violations involving illegal content, child safety, or imminent harm to any person.
34. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests relating to these Terms, please contact us at:
Letsgo Community Inc.
1. Introduction
Letsgo Community Inc. (“Letsgo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a corporation incorporated under the laws of Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Letsgo mobile and web application (the “App”).
Letsgo is a location-based social platform. Every Post published through the App includes mandatory GPS coordinates, and the App may collect your device’s location while it is open or running in the background. Because location data is central to how the App works, we have written this Policy to be specific and transparent about what we collect, why, and what we do — and do not do — with it.
This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given to them in the Terms and Conditions. By using the App, you signify that you have read, understood, and agreed to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Definitions
To help explain things as clearly as possible, the following terms are used throughout this Policy:
Personal Information: any information that directly, indirectly, or in connection with other information allows for the identification or identifiability of a natural person.
Location Data: the exact GPS coordinates attached to a Post at the time of capture or upload, and any device location data collected by the App while it is open or running in the background, as further described in Section 3.3.
Post: any photo, image, video, or other content uploaded through the App, to which GPS coordinates are mandatorily attached.
Follower: a user who has been approved by another user to view that user’s Private Posts.
Cookie: a small piece of data stored on your device by your browser or the App, used to maintain your login session.
Device: any internet-connected device such as a phone or tablet used to access the App.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide at Registration
When you create an account, we collect:
Email address — used to identify your account, send communications, and deliver account-related notices.
Username — your chosen public display name on the App.
Date of birth — collected solely to verify that you meet the 18+ age requirement. Your date of birth is never displayed publicly.
3.2 Third-Party Login
If you register or log in using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive limited profile information from those providers — typically a unique identifier and, where permitted by your settings, an email address. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a relay email address rather than your actual address; we will use whichever address Apple provides for account communications. The information we receive depends on the permissions you grant and the provider’s own privacy settings.
3.3 Location Data
Location Data is the most sensitive category of information we collect. We collect it in two ways:
Post-time location: When you create or upload a Post, we capture and permanently attach the exact GPS coordinates of your device at that moment. This location is embedded in the Post and is visible to whoever can view the Post (all users for Public Posts; approved Followers for Private Posts).
Active-session location: While the App is open or running in the background on your device, the App may collect and temporarily retain your device’s location to support the posting feature, to provide location-aware search results, and to generate content suggestions relevant to your location. This data is not stored independently of a Post. Any temporarily retained location data that has not been attached to a Post is discarded when the App is closed and is never transmitted to or stored on our systems.
The App does not collect location data while it is closed.
You may withdraw consent to location collection at any time by revoking the App’s location permissions through your device settings. Doing so will prevent you from creating Posts, as location tagging is mandatory, and will also disable location-aware search results and content suggestions.
3.4 User Content
We collect all content you submit to the App, including photos, images, videos, captions, and any other material included in a Post. Every Post is associated with Location Data as described in Section 3.3. We also collect metadata including the date and time of posting and your chosen visibility setting (Public or Private).
3.5 Device and Technical Information
When you use the App, we automatically collect:
Device type and operating system version;
App version; and
Crash logs and error reports, used to identify and fix technical issues.
We do not collect your IP address or browsing history.
We also collect limited usage analytics (such as feature interaction data and session frequency) to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This data is aggregated and is not linked to your identity.
With your permission, we may access your device’s contacts list for the following limited purposes: (a) to allow you to invite contacts to join the App; (b) to allow you to share a Post with a contact; and (c) to show you which of your contacts are already on the App. Contact data is not stored on our servers, is not shared with third parties, and is used only in the moment you initiate one of these features.
3.6 Push Notification Data
If you enable push notifications, we collect a device notification token issued by your device’s operating system (Apple APNs or Google FCM). This token is used solely to deliver notifications to your device. We send activity notifications (such as new follower approvals) and system notifications (such as security alerts). You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
3.7 Camera and Photo Library Permissions
To create Posts, the App requests access to your device’s camera and photo library. These permissions are used solely to allow you to take a photo or select an existing image to include in a Post or to set your profile picture. We do not access your camera or photo library at any other time, and we do not scan, index, or retain any photos that are not explicitly selected and uploaded by you as part of a Post or profile picture.
You may deny or revoke camera and photo library permissions through your device settings. Doing so will prevent you from creating Posts that include photos.
3.8 Cookies
The App uses cookies solely to maintain your login session and keep you signed in between uses. We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes. We do not store Personal Information in cookies beyond what is necessary to identify your active session.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To operate the App: creating and managing your account, enabling GPS-verified posting, managing follower relationships, and delivering push notifications.
To verify age eligibility: your date of birth is used to confirm you meet the 18+ requirement at registration.
To maintain and improve the App: crash logs and device information are used to identify bugs, fix technical issues, and improve App stability.
To communicate with you: we use your email address to send account-related communications including security notices, policy updates, data rights responses, breach notifications, and moderation decisions.
To enforce our Terms and Conditions: we may use account information and Post data to investigate violations, respond to reports, and take moderation action.
To comply with legal obligations: we may process your information as required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory authority.
We do not use your Personal Information or Location Data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or the training of artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
5. How We Share Your Information
5.1 With Other Users
Sharing with other users is the core function of the App:
Public Posts — your Post content and associated GPS coordinates are visible to all App users.
Private Posts — your Post content and associated GPS coordinates are visible only to users you have approved as Followers.
Your username is visible to other users in connection with your Posts and follower status. Your email address and date of birth are never visible to other users.
5.2 With Analytics Providers
We share limited technical data with trusted third-party analytics providers for crash reporting and App stability monitoring. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose. Where these providers receive data that could include location information, it is shared only in aggregated or anonymized form that cannot reasonably identify you. We do not share your name, email address, username, or individual Post data with analytics providers.
5.3 With Third-Party Login Providers
If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, those providers will have access to the fact that you have created a Letsgo account, in accordance with their own privacy policies. Letsgo does not share your Post content or Location Data with Apple or Google.
5.4 Law Enforcement and Government Requests
We may disclose your Personal Information, including your Location Data and Post history, in response to a valid legal demand from a law enforcement agency, court, regulator, or other government authority. Before complying, we review each request for legal validity and disclose only the minimum information required. Where legally permitted, we will notify you that a request has been received. We will not notify you where doing so is prohibited by law, would obstruct an investigation, or where a non-disclosure order has been issued.
5.5 Sale or Transfer of Business
We reserve the right to transfer your Personal Information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of all or substantially all of the assets of Letsgo. In such circumstances, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the acquiring party agrees to treat your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy, or will provide you with notice and an opportunity to delete your account before the transfer takes effect where required by applicable law.
5.6 Corporate Affiliates
We may share your Personal Information with our corporate affiliates — meaning any entity that directly or indirectly controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with Letsgo. Any affiliate that receives your information will be required to treat it in accordance with this Policy.
5.7 What We Do Not Do
Letsgo does not sell your Personal Information or Location Data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners. We do not use your location history to build behavioral profiles or serve targeted advertising.
6. Location Data — Special Considerations
Because every Post on the App contains exact GPS coordinates, we want to be direct about the privacy implications:
A pattern of Public Posts can reveal where you live, work, or spend time. We encourage you to review your Post history periodically and use Private Posts for locations you wish to keep restricted.
Changing a Post from Public to Private after it has been viewed, saved, or re-shared by other users does not retroactively remove that data from those users’ devices. Letsgo cannot retrieve location data that has already left our systems.
Deleting a Post removes it from our active servers within 7 business days and from backup systems within 30 days, but does not remove copies held by other users prior to deletion.
Deactivating your account results in permanent deletion of all your Posts and associated data. This action is irreversible.
If you are in a situation where your physical safety depends on location privacy — such as fleeing domestic violence or operating under a safety plan — we strongly recommend using Private Posts only, exercising caution about who you approve as a Follower, and being aware that location data in Private Posts is visible to your approved Followers.
7. Data Retention
We retain your Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. Specific retention periods are as follows:
Account information (email, username, date of birth): retained for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deactivation, subject to legal retention requirements.
Posts and Location Data: removed from active servers within 7 business days of deletion and permanently purged from backup systems within 30 days.
Crash logs and technical data: retained for up to 12 months for debugging and stability purposes, then deleted.
Push notification tokens: retained for the life of your account or until you disable push notifications, whichever is earlier. Tokens are deleted within 7 business days of account deactivation or notification permission being revoked.
Inactive accounts: accounts with no login or activity for 12 consecutive months may be identified as inactive. Where Letsgo identifies an inactive account, it may send a notice to your registered email address with a 30-day window to respond. If no response is received, Letsgo may permanently delete the account and all associated data. A reminder notice may be sent at day 15.
You should be aware that certain information may exist in non-erasable backup form for a period after deletion. Promptly after receiving a verified deletion request, all Personal Information stored in actively used databases will be deleted as soon as reasonably and technically practicable.
Where retention is required by applicable law — for example, to comply with a court order or regulatory obligation — we will retain the minimum data required and for no longer than legally necessary.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable Ontario privacy legislation, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:
Right of Access. You may request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you, including your location history. Contact us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Data Access Request.” We will acknowledge within 5 business days and respond within 30 calendar days.
Right of Correction. You may request correction of inaccurate Personal Information. Contact us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Data Correction Request.” We will acknowledge within 5 business days and action the correction within 30 calendar days.
Right of Deletion. You may request deletion of your Personal Information by contacting us at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Data Deletion Request,” or by deactivating your account through the App settings. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 calendar days, subject to legal retention obligations. Deletion of your account is permanent and irreversible.
Right to Withdraw Consent. Where we rely on your consent to process your data — including location collection — you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent to location collection via your device settings will prevent you from creating Posts. You may withdraw consent to push notifications through your device settings at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.
If you believe your privacy rights have not been respected, we encourage you to contact us first at support@letsgo.community with the subject line “Privacy Inquiry” so that we have the opportunity to address your concern directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca, or with the applicable Ontario privacy authority.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your Personal Information, including your Location Data, against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to affected users, we will notify affected users within 7 calendar days of discovering the breach by email to the address associated with your account or through a prominent in-app notification. We will also report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required under PIPEDA.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Where data is transferred outside Canada, we take reasonable contractual and technical steps to ensure it receives a level of protection comparable to that required under PIPEDA. You acknowledge that Personal Information in a foreign jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by foreign courts or government authorities.
Some of our service providers and infrastructure partners may operate from jurisdictions outside Canada. As a result, your Personal Information, including your Location Data, may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in a foreign jurisdiction. This Policy will be updated to identify those jurisdictions once our infrastructure decisions are finalized. If you would like to know the current status of our data storage locations, you may contact us at support@letsgo.community.
11. Links to Other Services
The App may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to those third-party services, and Letsgo is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or alongside the App.
The third-party login providers we currently support are Apple and Google. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which you should review before using these login methods.
12. Children
The App is intended solely for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18. Age is verified by self-attestation at registration. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate that account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@letsgo.community.
13. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. By using the App, you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario in connection with any action or dispute arising under this Policy.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material — particularly changes that affect how we collect or use Location Data — we will provide at least 30 days’ advance notice through the App or via email to your registered address. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not accept the revised Policy, you may deactivate your account and request deletion of your data. The effective date at the top of this Policy reflects when it was last updated.
